As a key member of the People Data & Insights team, you will play a pivotal role in the stewardship and governance of our people data assets. This position is responsible for managing data and metric definitions, metadata repositories, ensuring data quality processes and monitoring, and delivering policy training and upskilling for colleagues. As the Core People Data Steward, you will both champion data governance methodologies and support non-permanent data stewards across the organisation, helping them embed high standards in their domains. Additionally, you will maintain and be responsible for the data entitlements framework to ensure ongoing compliance and secure data access.

What You’ll Deliver
Are you ready to shape the future of people data and drive meaningful change? In this role, you’ll:
- Define Data & Metrics: Collaborate across the business to craft, standardise, and document crystal-clear definitions for people data and workforce metrics—laying the foundation for impactful analytics and smart decision-making.
- Champion Metadata Management: Design our metadata processes, partnering with stewards to keep our data assets well-documented, accessible, and ready for innovation.
- Lead Data Quality Excellence: Set the gold standard for data quality – designing, monitoring, and refining rules and processes to ensure our data is trustworthy and actionable, all while driving continuous improvement.
- Empower Through Training: Bring data policies and governance to life by crafting engaging training sessions and upskilling opportunities, building data literacy and confidence right across our organisation.
- Be the Core Data Steward: Serve as the go-to expert and mentor for people data, providing hands-on guidance and support to help our data community thrive.
- Secure Data Entitlements: Oversee and evolve our data access framework, working closely with data owners to ensure compliance, protect privacy, and maintain the highest ethical standards.
- Influence Data Architecture: Team up with the People Data Architect to shape and future-proof our data models, making sure governance is embedded every step of the way.
- Safeguard Data Usage: Monitor how people data is accessed and used, champion data governance, and ensure responsible use and proper disposal throughout the entire data lifecycle.
- Drive Collaboration: Play a key role in our People Data Governance Forum - coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and connecting our data community for shared success.
About You
- Experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management roles, preferably supporting HR, workforce, or people data in complex organisations.
- Expertise in developing metric and data definitions, metadata management, and implementing data quality frameworks.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging policy training, and support the upskilling of data users and stewards.
- Thorough understanding of HR data domains, data governance frameworks, and methods for managing people data.
- Strong partnership skills, working collaboratively with data stewards, technical teams, and business users to embed governance standards.
- Demonstrated analytical, organisational, and communication skills—capable of translating governance requirements into practical solutions.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and improvement in the data governance space.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
