POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing the development, updating, and maintenance of project schedules, and the integration of those project schedules to create master (multi-project) schedules and medium-range and long-range production resource plans. Responsible for managing the schedule files system and posting and reporting of schedules and resource plans as required. Responsible for overseeing the configuration of EVM data within project schedule files as required. Responsible for implementing scheduling and resource planning processes and WBS standards and SOPs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assure development and maintenance of project schedules
- Develop and maintain work center master schedules
- Develop and maintain medium- and long-range production resource plans
- Develop and maintain Supplemental schedules supporting manufacturing
- Implement scheduling and resource planning standards
- Develop and maintain schedule-related EVMS data and documents
- Interface with others at MMC and customers
- Maintain configuration control of the scheduling tools and the data within them
- Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
- Directly supervise the work of the Project Scheduler(s) assigned to him/her
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 1 to 6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years related work experience, 7 years or more of related work experience or 3 years working in a shipyard planning/scheduling department.
- Supervision Required
- Substantial experience in a complex multi-product, build-to-order production environment creating project and master schedules and resource plans.
- Substantial working knowledge of ERP systems and network scheduling software (Primavera and Project).
- Substantial working knowledge of EVM and DCMA guidelines.
SKILLS
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and willingness to work in both an office and an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling software.
- Prefer knowledge of shipbuilding workflow, material flow, and production processes.
- Prefer knowledge of Navy and Coast Guard scheduling and performance reporting requirements
- Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) computer skills.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
