We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Sales Representative for our Mechanical Sales Team in Ontario.  The sales territory covers Kitchener-Waterloo / Guelph Region to Owen Sound, and west to Windsor.  This role will be based out of the IPEX Invader Crescent Mississauga Sales Office, with the successful candidate living within the territory and working remotely.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will manage the sales activity for Mechanical Customers (Plumbing / HVAC / Industrial) in South West Ontario, from Kitchener-Waterloo / Guelph to Owen Sound to Windsor.  This will include calling on IPEX distributors, mechanical / HVAC / industrial contractors, specifying engineers, developers, and inspectors.  

The primary objective will be to become a trusted advisor to all industry stakeholders.  This will include the conversion of contractors & engineers from traditional metal piping systems to IPEX Mechanical Systems.  Sales activity will be tracked in CRM and Market Reports will be submitted monthly. Collaboration and support from IPEX sales colleagues will help achieve objectives.  Working closely with IPEX Customer Service, Innovation, Marketing, & Product Management will also be within the scope of responsibilities.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain and generate sales for IPEX Mechanical Systems distributors, understanding market/competitive activity in order to deal with distributorship Managers and purchasing representatives.  Promote IPEX products on sales calls, gaining commitment of sale. 
  • Promotes and assures a positive relationship with all IPEX customers through regular communication of product related information.  Upon delivery of products, evaluate customer’s satisfaction level to ensure constant enhancement of customer relations. 
  • Acts as engineering/technical resource, services existing accounts and generates future business prospects through frequent visits throughout assigned territory.  Prepare presentations aimed at gathering pertinent customer information while relaying which of IPEX’s quality products meet their needs, aimed at growing IPEX sales as well as the distributor’s through education. 
  • Builds long-term relationships with contractors, engineers and end users, promoting product quality and application in a competitive market, to secure their commitment to our product. 
  • Investigate and follow-up on new customer inquiries, cold calls and untouched markets to continuously develop sales opportunities.  Participate in trade shows and/or other promotional programs. 
  • Writes quotations, follows-up on outstanding orders and quotations, maintaining constant contact with customers. 
  • Liaises with all necessary internal personnel, particularly customer service in order to communicate customer information and all relevant data. 
  • Report and document all sales activities in order to facilitate sales forecast preparation and costing data. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree or College Diploma is an asset.  
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience in sales and customer facing activities.  
  • Construction Industry experience is an asset. 
  • Proven excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • The ability to work independently with strong self-motivation skills. 
  • Willingness to travel overnight 20% of the time.
