Department/Location: Ideally located in Central Scotland – this is a Home-based job, with extensive travel expected within the managed region.

Context: Ensure the Wireless Fire P&L growth of new sales opportunities in Scotland and northern part of England. Continue to develop the UK wireless Fire market generally, whilst supporting existing customers and clients as well as new.

Job Content/Main Objective:

The overall mission of the BDM is to coordinate business relationships and grow sales at a regional level with Installers, Specifiers and End Users.

He/she will establish a close cooperation with the central decision makers within these companies, to get EMS Group wireless fire products approved and drive future deals & key project sales opportunities to success. He/she will also need to support the other members of the UK Sales Team, as / when required periodically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain long term business relationships with central and local functions, internally and externally with our current customers.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and define and implement sales initiatives to capture this potential.
  • Work with the local sales colleagues, operations, country management, pre-sales and TSD engineers to propose, drive and manage local sales initiatives.
  • Account relationships and sales.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts together with local management.
  • Setup and host formal events (business review, contract review, product introduction, market feedback, product requirements, etc…) to facilitate relationship and sales.
  • Own commercial sales reporting on accounts.
  • In charge of internal communication on account evolution, news, sales, contacts, strategy towards Sales Director – Fire, UK through mail push and salesforce.com.

Performance Standards:

  • Achieving the annual account sales targets.
  • Managing the account relationships, open new accounts.
  • Business reporting (sales reporting, sales forecasting, meeting reports, account information, etc...).
  • Cooperating, communicating and liaising with the other UK  business functions.
  • Supporting account queries, as necessary.
  • Embracing and applying EMS Group & Carrier values.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Min. 5 years of experience in Fire & Safety industry.
  • Proven sales experience, including major account management at regional level.
  • Strong channel management skills and experience, i.e. direct end-user experience and with installers/service providers.
  • Fire detection and alarm systems knowledge & background preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of English.  
  • PC literacy, mastering PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Enthusiastic and creative personality with hands-on mentality, result-oriented and willing to work both as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills: ability to negotiate at various levels, from technician to C-level.
  • Good organizational. process and time management skills.
  • Valid driving license and passport.
  • Willingness to travel (ca 50% of time).
