We’re looking for an organised and proactive Transport Supervisor to support our Transport Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our operations. You will join our Transport team at our Heywood depot on a year fixed term contract.
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 10:30 - 19:00 / 06:00 - 14:30 Rotating Shift
In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in driver management, compliance, and customer service, while helping maintain high operational standards.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Driver & Daily Operations
Allocate drivers to routes and manage daily driver activity
Monitor driving behaviour, including unauthorised stops and accurate paperwork completion
Handle driver wage and holiday records
Support with agency driver bookings, spend tracking, and documentation
Compliance & Reporting
Print, review and file driver infringements and agency licence checks
Report vehicle defects, accidents (RTAs), and near misses
Ensure training on driver electronic pads is delivered effectively
Upload relevant documents to the Aquarius system
Communication & Coordination
Provide ETAs to drop points and liaise with customers professionally
Complete and send customer trackers and internal handovers
Coordinate vehicle breakdowns out of hours
Support & Admin
Order site fuel and assist with various admin tasks as required by the Transport Manager
Collaborate with peers across the transport network to ensure excellent service delivery
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a transport supervisory or coordination role
Strong attention to detail with good knowledge of driver hours and transport legislation
Solid IT skills — Excel, Word, and Outlook especially
Clear communication skills and a confident, team-focused attitude
Comfortable working to tight deadlines with a proactive, can-do mindset
Experience with transport management systems (desirable – training provided)
