Learning & Development Executive
- To ensure all talents are educated with Marriott Culture, Aloft Culture, Aloft Langkawi Vision, Mission and Value.
- Identifying L+D needs analysis required for the hotel with a comprehensive L+D plan of all L+D activities for the year to be reviewed quarterly and recommendations made where necessary.
- Directly facilitate talents development in the hotel with managers, and talents communications to discern grievances and to respond to those grievances in all appropriate manners.
- To assist the relevant specialists in identifying the L+D needs within each department.
- Ensure that the department’s operational budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled and adhere to the HRDF contribution and claims by law.
- Maintain the hotel’s L+D budgets with the consultation from the Assistant Talent Manager and Financial Controller.
- Manage and development the talents, ensuring that they are developed to their maximum potential and efficiency and monitor their performance to stay current with L+ D Philosophies and Methodologies.
- To ensure all talent enquiries are handled in professional and tactful manners.
- To facilitate Marriott Development Academy and Voyage programme.
- To assist set up and arrange L+D rooms to be use for L+D purposes and maintains its cleanliness.
- To handle and coordinate the L+D administration of operations L+D i.e departmental on-the-job L+D.
- To handle the availability of the L+D rooms for all L+D programmes to be conducted for the month, including the booking of L+D Room and function rooms by liaising with Sales & Marketing. Arranging for room setup and for all equipment needed for the respective L+D programme, including liaising with Sales & Marketing, Banquet and AV Department.
- To organize on all Mandatary L+D by Government or Marriott International Standard i.e Food Handlers and First Aid Certificates.
- To maintain close contact with local colleges, hotel schools and universities.
- To liaise in the selection and placement of student trainees from colleges and universities in the respective Departments. Informing the respective Department Heads of the placement of student trainees and preparing their L+D plans and following up on their progress by checking with Department Heads and the students. Keeping records of student trainees’ CVs and evaluation forms
Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 year of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 2 year of related work experience.
License or Certification: None
