Job Roles & Responsibilities      

Engineer, Electrical III

The Electrical Engineer-III is responsible for carrying out the maintenance activities of various electrical systems in his assigned sections safely as per the schedule and guidance from the OEM manuals and approved Safe Work Instructions (SWI) to ensure their uninterrupted availability for safe operation. He shall ensure the optimized and effective utilization of the given manpower and other resources, to achieve the assigned maintenance targets as well as maximize availability of the equipment for safe operation, so that the operational targets set by the Management is achieved. He will be responsible for implementing the safety and training programs, including the assessment of the job-related safety risks to provide high-quality problem-solving services as well as to enhance employees’ skills and workmanship.

 

      Daily Job Routine (08:00-04:00)      
  1. The Electrical Engineer should be well conversant on Industrial Safety and MSHEM procedures and keen on their timely and effective implementation.

 

  1. He shall ensure strict compliance with Maaden Life Saving Rules (LSR) all the time. 

 

  1. He shall ensure the availability of proper tools and instruments for his team with required markings, tagging and calibrations wherever applicable. 

 

  1. He shall ensure the access of all relevant documents to all team members for their reference and guidance of a safe and reliable execution of PM/troubleshooting jobs. 

 

  1. He shall review daily RCM and other job scheduling by the Area Planner for their correctness and priority.

 

  1. He shall discuss and review the daily job assignments issued by the Electrical Supervisor to make sure the job priority and proper utilization of resources. 

 

  1. He should conduct regular workplace inspections to proactively identify risks, ensure compliance, and foster a culture of safety-awareness.

 

  1. He shall cascade all communications from the Management to his team received through daily coordination meetings, emails, etc. for proper implementation. 

 

  1. He shall be capable and actively involved with his team in decision making and troubleshooting, whenever required, even in off duty hours.

 

  1. He shall review and update the SWIs and JSA/RA periodically and submit the same to E & I Superintendent for approval and make them available with the team, for reference.

 

  1. He shall review and maintain the list of urgent but pending jobs in coordination with Area Planner to make advance preparations and to execute them during unplanned stoppages. 

 

  1. He shall formulate Standing Instructions, in consultation with E & I Superintendent, on safe maintenance practices which shall be followed regularly (without reminders) and convey the same to the team members for strict compliance. 

 

  1. He shall derive detailed Scope of Work to avail External / Expertise Services for the electrical systems, if any and submit the same for the approval of E & I Superintendent. 

 

  1. He shall encourage his subordinates for continuous improvements for the better performance and recommend for reward by reporting to the E & I Superintendent. .

 

  1. He shall cooperate and coordinate with the Instrumentation team and share the resources with them, in case of any requirements.

 

  1. He shall carry out assignments like system upgrade projects, Management Walkthroughs, RCA investigations, etc. in addition to the regular assignments.

 

  1. He shall ensure the availability of the required spares with his team, periodically, with reference to the inventory stock status & OEM BoM and other technical data. 

 

  1. He shall review the Technical Evaluations made by the Electrical Supervisor and approve the same.

 

  1. He shall make sure that the inspections of spares / equipment / services obtained from external agencies are done in line with the technical acceptance documents / contract agreement terms. 

 

  1. He shall seek technical assistance from the Reliability Department for the recurring technical issues being faced. 

 

  1. He shall assist E & I Superintendent by preparing necessary data for the budgetary approval for future.

 

  1. He shall plan the vacation schedule with Electrical Supervisor for the team members, well in advance, without risking the plant operation.
     

 

     

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

     

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor Of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from a reputed University with a Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial field.
