About the role

The Junior Competitive Play Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organisation, administration, and successful delivery of junior tennis competitions and tournaments across the ACT.  You’ll play a vital part in ensuring a seamless and engaging competitive environment for young players, while actively contributing to the growth and sustainability of Tennis ACT’s junior competitive pathway.  This is a part-time role which offer flexibility – 20 hours per week.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate Tennis ACT Junior Competitive Play opportunities, including taking team entries, coordinating results, coordinating finals and communications to clubs and players.
  • Evaluate and enhance the experience of junior competitions, ensuring they remain engaging, well-managed, and responsive to the needs of players and stakeholders.
  • Organise and deliver premier junior tournaments and events
  • Work with local tournament directors and the Competitive Play Lead to develop the Junior Development Series calendar.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience in coordinating events (preferably Tennis) at a local and state level
  • Strong administration skills, including computer literacy, budgeting, record keeping and report writing
  • Interpersonal ability to be both empathetic and inspirational to players, parents, volunteers and staff
  • Strong presentation and communication skills both in one-on-one and public speaking situation
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis ACT
