Client Onboarding Specialist

Role Location: Valencia, Spain

Department: Central Onboarding Team

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • The Client Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for the onboarding and integration of new Apex Group clients, predominantly in UK.

  • Key tasks will include coordination of client adoptions (KYC/AML), account openings, facilitating the review and negotiation of funds offering documentation and legal agreements, and project planning.

  • The Client Onboarding Specialist will be expected to coordinate internal functions to onboard new clients including Service Delivery Teams, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure all new launches and conversions are successfully project managed.

  • As part of the integration process, the candidate will be expected to provide regular status updates of onboardings and conversions to new clients. Weekly project calls should be held with stakeholders and project plans should be maintained to track progress. 

  • The Client Onboarding Specialist will participate in regional new business meetings and provide updates to senior management and client services teams on integration projects they have been assigned. The candidate will also assist in the production of new business reports and other KPIs / management reports as required.

  • The Client Onboarding Specialist will work with the Integration team to develop best practices and operating models for integration to enhance the client onboarding experience.

  • Ensure integration of legacy businesses in the Group into the central onboarding process

  • Support other European offices when workload requires

  • Act as an escalation point for all onboarding related issues

  • Assist Heads of Onboarding in rolling out the Group onboarding procedure in all locations and business lines

  • Assist Heads of Onboarding in rolling out other onboarding initiatives as we streamline the process across the Group

  • Daily interaction with Apex Group outsourced business support locations (India, Mauritius, Hungary, Bulgaria) to provide guidance, review, client-interface to progress project blockers and training as the role evolves.

  • Enhance reporting for deals onboarded in European locations for Group consumption

Skills Required:

  • The ideal candidate must have an excellent knowledge of funds industry and will have experience working on Hedge, Private Equity funds and other Apex Group products. Experience of ACD, UK Depositary, UK corporate structures and UK regulatory/stock exchange requirements is an advantage as is knowledge of other fund domiciles, such as the Cayman Islands.

  • Experience/knowledge of Custody/Depositary/NAV calculation and Transfer Agency/AIFM services is an advantage.

  • You should have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and proactively drive all project workstreams forward to meet target launch dates.

  • Project management skills.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Project Management tools and other accounting or investor services systems is an advantage but not a necessity.

  • Professional level of English (spoken and written).
