WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. Your Impact

Provide instrumentation and control engineering support to client owners in the form of developing criteria and specifications for their new power projects, reviewing documents generated by sub-contractors and equipment vendors in the course of project execution, monitoring construction progress and responding to questions from construction contractors
Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects
Coordination with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Coordination with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects
Field commissioning support on project start-up efforts
Ability to work independently and efficiently with little oversight
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
10+ years of Power Generation Instrumentation and Controls experience
Essential Professional Licensure
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
Experience power plant control systems
Network and SCADA Design
Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $115,100 - $205,040

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
