Job Description
What You'll Do:
Analyzes and assists with the processing of monthly claims for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Nutrition Programs:
- posts payments;
- researches and ensures payments are dispersed in timely fashion [e.g. routinely monitors reimbursement claims; Centralized Payment System (CPS) and Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) to find payment information];
- researches automated systems; verifies accuracy of data on reports & supporting documents;
- provides assistance to internal and external customers using the Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System (CRRS) regarding reimbursements and reports;
- contacts sponsors to ensure claim deadlines are met;
- researches returned reimbursement checks;
- researches and prepares information for lost or voided checks;
- submits completed paperwork to fiscal office for re-issuance of lost or voided checks.
Serves as backup in creating and validating reports for submission to the USDA’s Federal Nutrition Services (FNS):
- assists with the drafting of collection memos for recovery of overpaid funds;
- enters checks received for fund recovery in CRRS, sponsor folders and SharePoint;
- delivers fund recovery checks to the Department fiscal office for deposit in OAKS;
- assists with CRRS password changes and processing of access requests;
- assists with the calculation of fiscal actions found in nutrition program compliance reviews and tracks results notification letters;
- assists with certified letters;
- assists with regular reconciliation between CRRS, OAKS and FNS.
Assists with the review of financial statements, bank statements and supporting documentation for potential new sponsors that wish to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Performs other duties as assigned: manages office records & files and serves as backup for customer service.
The work location of this position is 25 South Front Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. You will be required to report to this work location full-time, if selected.
If this position is filled with an internal employee who has an approved telework agreement, the employee may be required to report in-person during the initial training period.
Qualifications
Completion of associate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.-Or completion of high school technical program in accounting; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting or finance to include a basic level of experience in spreadsheet software.
-Or 18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include a basic level of experience in spreadsheet software.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.Supplemental Information
Starting compensation for this position is $22.96 hourly/$47,757 annually with the opportunity to advance in pay after 6 months. The top of the pay scale for this position is $58,074 annually.
