Role: We are looking for a freelance Content Producer to join Bloomberg Television’s newsroom in New York. This is an overnight role supporting EMEA programming, working 2–3 days per week, with opportunities for additional shifts to provide vacation backfill or extra support during major events. The position is a critical part of the show production team — responsible for the visual elements the shows need across live broadcast and digital distribution. The role supports four hours of live programming Monday–Friday, including Horizons, Bloomberg Daybreak Europe, The Opening Trade, Bloomberg Technology: Europe, and The Pulse with Francine Lacqua. Based in New York, you’ll work overnight hours aligned to European showtimes.
We’ll trust you to: Create compelling video and graphic elements — including VOs, SOTs, opens, multicam interviews, charts, headshots, and social-first content. Thrive in a fast-paced, live news environment — reacting quickly to breaking news, shifting as events evolve, and delivering under tight deadlines. Source and produce content with accuracy and attention to detail — drawing on Bloomberg’s internal video library, external sources, and digital platforms, while ensuring proper metadata for distribution. Bring creativity and ideas to the table — proactively pitching concepts that elevate programming and resonate across broadcast and digital. Collaborate across the newsroom — working closely with producers, anchors, editors, and assignment desks, while being able to step into support roles as needed. Work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues overseas — using Zoom, messaging platforms, and other tools to stay connected across time zones. Apply strong editorial judgment — writing headlines, crafting social language, and selecting visuals that align with Bloomberg’s standards. Be flexible with scheduling — working overnight shifts aligned to EMEA programming, with additional freelance opportunities for vacation backfill and event coverage. Work confidently with Bloomberg systems and editing tools — including the Bloomberg Terminal, Adobe Creative Suite, newsroom planning software, and distribution platforms.
You’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or equivalent newsroom experience 2+ years of newsroom experience Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Experience with social media publishing platforms Familiarity with newsroom planning tools Ability to adapt quickly to new programs and cloud-based technology Flexibility and availability to work on a freelance basis (2–3 shifts per week, with additional shifts as needed)
