Mō tēnei tūranga | About the OpportunityWe have an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced and passionate Tech Lead to help shape the future of Generative AI at Fonterra. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building AI-enabled solutions over structured Data Products, working across multiple business domains to uncover insights and close gaps in existing reporting.
You’ll collaborate closely with Business SMEs and Data Engineers to make our Data Platform smarter, more intuitive, and future-ready. From crafting domain-specific prompts to maintaining a robust data dictionary, your work will directly influence how our teams interact with data and make decisions. This is a hands-on role that blends deep technical expertise with creative problem-solving - all within a fast-paced Agile environment.
This is a +- 1 year contract with an ASAP start. 
Mōu | About YouYou’re a curious and driven engineer with a strong foundation in Databricks and a passion for modern AI applications. You thrive in collaborative settings, enjoy translating business needs into technical solutions, and have a knack for making complex data accessible and actionable.You bring:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks (workspaces, clusters, notebooks, Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog)
• 1+ years working with Generative AI and large language models (e.g. Azure OpenAI, Llama or Anthropic Claude)
• A solid grasp of prompt engineering and how to tailor prompts for meaningful business insights
• Security & Governance Awareness: Understanding of data privacy, access control, and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Familiar with Scrum/Agile ways of working.
