North Corridor Co-op invites applications for the position of Meat Manager to lead our meat team on a full-time basis at our location in Thorhild, AB. Reporting to the Divisional Food Store Manager or the Food Store Manager, the Meat Department Manager will demonstrate and lead the Meat department with actions that align with North Corridor Co-ops brand and values.
Lead the meat department team in making a difference by delivering a legendary customer experience and building a genuine relationship with our guests
Lead, train and motivate meat department team to deliver excellent customer service. Create a positive and engaging work environment.
Manage day-to-day operations of the meat department to meet and/or exceed annual budgeted financial goals
Lead the annual planning, goal setting, budgeting & corporate talent management processes
Manage inventory, stock levels and meat ordering. Ensure that products are displayed and that shelves are stocked and rotated according to quality and freshness standards.
Ensure Health & Safety guidelines, programs and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure that the administrative requirements of the role are maintained on an ongoing basis.
Ensuring employee development and succession planning is a high priority.
Able to work a variety of shifts – including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Additional tasks as assigned by the Food Store Manager
Who you are as a leader:
Certifications/ Qualifications: You have a business diploma, certificate, CRS Manager training or equivalent management experience. 3-5 years of retail management experience preferred.
You have knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin, and inventory management.
Retail experience in a competitive and complex environment is preferred.
Knowledge of the local business environment would be an asset.
You demonstrate initiative and drive for results.
Skills in the areas of: Planning and executing production as well as implementing continuous improvement / changes to procedures / processes.
Ability to handle multiple demands – adaptable, organized, efficient and committed.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Computer skills are required – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Available to work a variety of shifts including Monday-Sunday, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
