DP World is seeking a skilled Lead Platform Engineer (Linux) to lead the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure platform solutions that enable seamless application deployment and integration across the organisation.
This key role requires deep expertise in Linux operating systems, web servers, and virtualization technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective infrastructure solutions, while mentoring and developing team members to foster technical growth and a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities –
Design scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions aligned with business goals
Collaborate with software engineers to support system integration and deployment
Lead technical design discussions and mentor team members on infrastructure best practices
Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using IaC tools and scripting
Implement and manage containerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Ansible) platforms
Support and secure enterprise Linux environments, ensuring compliance with security standards
Conduct capacity planning and performance forecasting
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure performance
Manage infrastructure risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain disaster recovery plans
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
8+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure design and management, with strong expertise in Linux (RHEL) environments
Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring Linux engineers
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), including Azure Container Registry (ACR)
Strong background in virtualization and containerization (VMware, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)
Solid understanding of IT/OT integration, preferably in the logistics industry
Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Java, or Go)
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins)
Knowledge of infrastructure architecture, system lifecycle management, and enterprise-scale deployments
Familiarity with middleware integration (SOAP, REST, JMS, Kafka) and frameworks like ITIL, Agile, or DevOps
