ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an innovative and strategic AI Director to lead team of AI Engineers to help align technology with game production and art production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, preferably in the gaming industry, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to think strategically and creatively about the role of AI within the company.
- Team Building and Management:
-Lead, recruit and inspire a team of AI engineers dedicated to exploring AI and R&D initiatives.
-Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence.
-Establish clear goals and performance metrics to drive team success and innovation. - Centralize tools and data
-Guide the team working on centralized data repository on any aspect necessary to leverage data for the future usage in AI/ML based solutions
-Coordinate with involved parties to identify, integrate or build, adjust & promote set of tools to be used by Virtuos employees worldwide
-Guide R&D team on specifics of Machine Learning when bringing new solutions to production projects
-Drive the development and deployment of scalable tools and solutions that enhance productivity and creativity across the organization. - Stakeholder Engagement:
-Collaborate with senior management on building roadmap for technical innovation in AI space
-Develop strong connections with Key Users in studios, helping drive change locally, ensuring alignment between strategic directions and local realities
-Facilitate effective communication between artists, technical artists, and project teams to ensure seamless collaboration and realistic expectations management - ML development and integration:
-Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, evaluating their applicability to our production pipelines.
-Develop and implement a strategic vision for the integration of AI in Virtuos, aligning with company goals and industry trends.
-Lead efforts to integrate AI technologies into art & game processes, improving efficiency, quality, and creative possibilities
-Oversee the implementation of AI projects, working with project managers and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
-Ensure that Virtuos' AI solutions are compliant with relevant regulations, such as data privacy laws.
- A degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience working with data and AI technologies in a professional setting
- Solid business acumen, with experience in business development, product management, or other business-focused roles
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of AI professionals and collaborate effectively with other departments
- Strategic thinking and creativity, with the ability to identify new opportunities for AI integration and develop novel solutions to complex problems
- Experience with Langchain, Langgraph, FastAPI, AWS services or similar cloud services
- (preferable) Deep understanding of AI technologies relevant to art & game development (both production and runtime)
- Understanding of the regulatory and ethical issues surrounding AI, including data privacy, bias, and transparency
