CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE
To facilitate the effective and successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities in assigned camps and rural/urban areas - in collaboration with the Project Officers. To conduct regular montioring at assigned areas to alert for all CP cases, to support children and community members in accessing services and receiving proper case and follow up service providers. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
The Project Assistant (Child Protection) will be responsible for carrying out activities that support the protection of children from violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect through case management. The role of the Project Assistant (Child Protection) is to provide case management services in an appropriate, timely and systematic manner in accordance with the SOPs.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
• Support children and their families through the case management process (six steps: identification and registration, assessment, case planning, implementation of the case plan, follow-up and review, case closure).
• Ensure quality case management services for girls, boys and those identifying as non-binary, children with complex needs, who have experienced or are at risk of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation and/or meet the eligibility criteria defined in the SOPs.
• Provide psychosocial support to children and families as part of the case management process
• Make safe and gender sensitive referrals to services and link to community support as appropriate
• Follow-up to ensure that services and community support provided are responsive to the specific needs of girls / boys, identified at the assessment stage and contribute to the achievement of the goals of the case plan.
• Maintain an up-to-date service mapping for the township in which she or he works.
• Work in a way that respects guiding principles defined in the SOPs
• Entry Case Management data in the CPIMS+ appropriately; registration, assessment, case plan, implementation, case notes for home visits and case review, and case closure
• Prepare for and participate in regular structured individual supervision sessions, case management meeting, case discussion with their supervisors, identifying challenges and areas for professional development.
• Actively engage in all capacity building opportunities, including formal trainings, shadowing/observation, case workers capacity assessments and skills identified in competency framework
• Work closely with community members in addressing child protection cases through referral mechanisms and services provided while keeping into account community based mechanisms.
• Assist and support Project Officer to train, coach and support community members in identification and monitoring activities for case management work.
• Assist and support Project Officer to train, coach and support community members on existence of referral pathways and related service providers.
• Receive and verify information fed from the communities in a safe manner.
• Provide and distribute assistant materials/kits in terms of Child Protection Program.
• Assign, monitor and evaluate the progress of the work with community members and Community volunteer.
• Provide regular monthly reports to Project Officer.
• Other tasks assigned by Project Officers and program manager.
• Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Child Safeguarding Responsibilities
• Ensure that all beneficiaries of your program are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• University degree or equivalent experiences.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child rights programming.
• At least 2 year in implementing and working with children.
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
• Ability to undertake case analysis, to document and submit case reports capturing key issues needed to inform programming for urgent response.
• High motivation to work with difficult circumstances.
• A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation and non-discrimination.
• Experiences in establishing networking and coordinating and strengthening referral mechanism.
• Understanding of case management and referral pathways at a community, inter-agency and institutional level.
• Experiences in community mobilization.
• Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization.
• Strong analytical skills and organization skills, ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage a multi-facetted workload.
• Solid communication skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible work attitude: the ability to work productively in a team environment & independently.
