NSF is seeking a Specialist for the Calibration Lab in this role you will be responsible for assisting in compliance and support of operations for the laboratory to ISO17025. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of lab environments and testing fields as you perform calibrations, assist in technical support, develop methods, and validation. It is an exciting role and fascinating field that offers opportunities for learning about calibration, equipment and problem solving every day.

  • Independently performing calibration tasks 
  • Complete calibration workorders by assigned due date
  • Write and maintain calibration SOP's.
  • Perform equipment repairs.
  • QC Review of in-house and outsourced calibration work orders.
  • Validation and Verification of new Calibration methods.
  • Researching new equipment capabilities. 
  • Assist with audits and corrective actions. 
  • Other duties as required

  • Associate degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline or High school diploma/GED with two years NSF laboratory work experience or three years external lab experience 
  • Ability to follow complex technical procedures.
  • Ability to document calibration procedures.
  • Knowledge of calibration processes.
  • Must have technical writing experience
  • Experience with Electronic LIMS
  • Ability to work directly with vendors. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
  • Laboratory experience and/or college level laboratory coursework 
  • Experience working in a calibration laboratory 
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC Standards 17025, 17065

Physical Demands:

  • Light to heavy physical effort required
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs 
  • Standing for long periods of time is necessary - ~80% lab work 20% desk work
  • Working with various solvents, acids, and bases as needed
  • Safety glasses and steel toes must always be worn in lab areas.

Proper PPE (gloves, hard hats, face shields) needed during specific testing
