About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team at Medik8. Based at our Aylesbury Innovation Centre, you will be a key figure in developing and maintaining a robust safety culture across our two sites: our main office and our Manufacturing, Research & Warehousing facility. This is a critical role that ensures the well-being of our employees, visitors, and contractors while maintaining our commitment to operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Legislation: Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all Health & Safety (H&S) matters. Ensure Medik8 is fully compliant with all relevant UK H&S legislation, including but not limited to the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

Fire Safety: Act as the designated Fire Safety Manager, ensuring fire risk assessments are up-to-date, fire drills are conducted regularly, and all fire safety equipment is maintained.
Culture & Training: Champion a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organisation. Design, deliver, and manage mandatory H&S training for all employees, from new starter inductions to specialised training for roles in manufacturing, warehousing, and research.
Hazard & Risk Management: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures. Investigate all H&S incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
Reporting & Metrics: Own the organisation's H&S reporting, including key performance indicators (KPIs). Regularly report on H&S metrics, trends, and compliance status to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with department heads, line managers, and employees to embed H&S into daily operations. Manage and oversee the H&S Committee, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics environment.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification is essential.
Demonstrable knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice.
Experience with ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 22716, and other regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, TGA) is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate incidents and implement effective solutions.
A proactive and methodical approach to H&S management, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Member of IOSH or similar organisations.
Proficiency in Google Suite and H&S management software.
