In this role, you will play a key part in identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities in metals and related sectors. You will work closely with Strategy, Finance, Technical and Legal teams on investment analysis, acquisitions, divestments, partnerships, and other strategic projects that are critical to Fortescue’s growth ambitions. This role offers exposure to high-profile transactions and direct involvement in strategic decision-making. You will gain end-to-end deal execution experience, from valuation and due diligence through to negotiation and integration, with visibility to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Support financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analysis to support metals investment decisions
- Translate strategy into execution by managing transactions through diligence, structuring, and negotiation.
- Develop high quality investment memorandums, presentations and insights to inform senior leadership decisions.
- Implement end to end transaction execution, ensuring workstreams are aligned and deliverables achieved
Qualifications and Experience
- 3–8 years’ experience in Corporate Development, Transaction Services, M&A Advisory, or Strategy Consulting, ideally with exposure to resources, commodities, or heavy industry
- Proven expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment evaluation, with the ability to assess complex opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Law (Engineering or related disciplines highly regarded).
- Exceptional numerical and analytical capability, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well with people across the business and with external partners.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and clear alignment with Fortescue’s values and long-term vision.
