Qualifications:

Background in developing and testing advanced pre-trained models, hyperparameter tuning, and data visualization.

Experience with image processing and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ultralytics) is preferred.

Familiarity with geospatial and data processing libraries/tools such as GDAL and GeoPandas.

Experience with high-throughput or distributed computing environments (e.g., CHTC) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is a plus.

Background in plant science is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in Python programming.

Experience developing deep learning models from scratch.

Knowledge of CNNs, Transformers, and GANs is a plus.

Strong skills in digital image processing.

Experience in data collection, analysis, exploration, and model development.

Experience in geospatial analysis.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking a candidate with strong enthusiasm and passion for deep learning research and model development. The role requires precision and attention to detail in both laboratory and computer-based work, along with excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

This is a short-term position for 2–3 months, with the possibility of a slight extension depending on project requirements, which may carry into the next semester. Given the time-sensitive nature of the project, only candidates with strong, hands-on experience in deep learning modeling will be considered.
