Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Grant Manager (GM) is responsible for raising vital funding to help the Mission fulfill its vision of ending homelessness one life at a time in the Denver Metro area and Northern Colorado, by providing leadership in maintaining current foundation and government funder relationships, seeking new opportunities through research, and developing and writing compelling grant applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Research and Development
- Researches private, community, corporate, and family foundations, as well as government agencies, to identify appropriate funding matches for DRM’s operations, programs, and capital projects.
- Oversees LOIs and grant proposals to current and potential funders to meet annual and special fundraising goals.
- Manages the Grant Officer and external grant writers as needed.
Funder Relations and Stewardship
- Provides leadership in forging and maintaining strong relationships with foundation and government funders in coordination with Senior Leadership and the Relational Giving Team.
- Schedules site visits and assists with donor tours.
Grant Compliance and Reporting
- In partnership with the Director of Compliance and Impact, conducts post-grant analysis to ensure timely submission of required reports and compliance with restricted grant requirements.
- Maintains a written planning calendar in Salesforce outlining proposal and reporting deadlines.
Financial Collaboration
- Works closely with DRM accounting staff to develop program budget breakouts to meet funder requirements.
- Maintains regular communication with the VP of Development and program staff to identify funding needs and report on grant proposal progress.
Leadership and Coordination
- Leads monthly Grants Calendar meetings with staff from Programs, Accounting, and Impact.
- Attends program and staff meetings as appropriate.
Other Duties
- Attends training and conferences to maintain knowledge of the funding landscape in metro Denver and Northern Colorado.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Development.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five years of experience with foundations, grant development, and/or proposal writing
- Two years of management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Four-year degree required
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to conduct research, think strategically, and analyze funder objectives and RFPs
- Solid understanding of nonprofit financial statements and budgets
- Highly organized and collaborative in approach, both internally and externally
- Strong computer skills: Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
- Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.?
