Summary/Objective: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Instructional Designer with a background in education to help build a new internal learning framework. This role is ideal for current or former teachers who are ready to apply their instructional expertise in a corporate setting. You will design and develop engaging learning materials that educate internal associates about our products, services, and strategic goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Design: Create structured learning experiences including online courses, one-pagers, short videos, and interactive resources tailored to adult learners.
  • SME Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts to gather insights and translate complex information into accessible, learner-friendly content.
  • Goal Alignment: Partner with leadership to identify learning needs and develop content that supports organizational objectives.
  • Content Creation: Build educational materials from scratch using instructional design principles and digital tools.
  • Framework Development: Contribute to the design and evolution of a scalable learning framework that supports continuous development.
  • Project Coordination: Manage multiple content development projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and quality standards.
  • Feedback Integration: Continuously improve content based on learner feedback and performance data.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience. 

Experience: 3+ years’ experience including:

  • 3+ years of classroom teaching experience, preferably with curriculum development responsibilities.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience with digital learning tools (e.g., Canva, Google Suite, Articulate, Camtasia, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with leadership teams.
  • Passion for helping others learn and grow in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Power Point), and Outlook required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality with all information.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain complex schedules.
  • Excellent listening skills with attention to detail preferred.
  • Independent decision-making skills required.
  • Must be able to read and write proficiently in English, comprehend instructions, and prepare correspondence.  
  • Possess outstanding problem solving, priority, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously with external and internal customers.

Travel:  You will be expected to be on-site at our home office in Omaha, Nebraska, for a few days each quarter. Additional travel is expected to be approximately less than 15%.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.
