 Job Summary: The Buyer/Planner is responsible for receiving and processing orders from our customers. Procuring materials needed to complete orders and coordinating with production and vendors to keep operations running. Process invoicing and works with quality to process RTV’s and RMA processes.


What you will be doing:

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers. Understanding and achieving customer needs through account management.
  • Receives orders from customers determining material needs from bill of materials list.
  • Ascertains availability of material from current inventory or from vendor and procures material as needed.
  • Assist management with forecasting ship date after reviewing availability of materials and reviewing current press load.
  • Prepares purchase orders for vendors for material and additional outside services.
  • Manage expedites delivery of material and outside services as needed.
  • Order management through the utilization of business software.
  • Determines priorities of orders according to customer, quantities, and when all material will be available.
  • Discuss and coordinate all orders with management to resolve any problems or “crisis” situations that may develop. Expedite rush jobs or jobs behind schedule.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and shipping to ensure an on time, high quality product.
  • Responsible for invoicing and issuing credits/debits.
  • Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and adhere to the proper Code of Conduct while on company property.  

Requirements

What you will bring to the team: 

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Entry-level 1-3 years preferred.

Preferred Qualifications (optional): 

  • Stamping experience strongly preferred

Additional Information: 

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel or the ability to learn
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with team.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude. 
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and drive accountability
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods sitting, with computer and other office machine usage.
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking
