Head of Categories, Arla Foods - Qatar

As the Head of Categories, you will tailor our strategies using shopper and trade insights, ensuring flawless execution across channels. You will be the "voice of the customer and shopper," driving mutual growth for Arla and retailers. Additionally, you will lead local initiatives, providing toolkits and frameworks for markets to adapt and execute strategies.

How you will make an impact

You will be a driving force behind the execution of category strategies in Qatar, ensuring alignment with global guidelines while tailoring approaches to local market needs. Your deep market and consumer insight will be crucial as you work with cross-functional teams and support stakeholders with expert advice.

• Plan and execute category strategies in line with global guidelines and local brand plans.
• P&L owner; responsible for performance and development of our categories, and develop short and long term corrective actions to ensure on-going growth
• Act as expert in all categories, analyzing and interpreting industry, market, and consumer/shopper trends.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to deliver category objectives and drive regional category growth.
• Partner with key retailers to identify growth opportunities, design joint business plans, and develop exclusive campaigns that drive category performance for both Arla and the customer
• Monitor brand tracking KPIs, provide input to local strategy, and recommend changes to category plans as needed.

You will sit on our leadership team in Qatar reporting directly to the General Manager.

 

What will make you successful

You are an experienced and structured individual, with high ambitions and a strong desire to succeed. You possess a high degree of engagement and drive, and at the same time, you are structured and quality conscious with the ability to think strategically as well as operationally. Further, you have a strong commercial mindset, enabling you to focus on our customers and consumers.

Moreover, you:

• Bring +5 years of experience, preferably from FMCG within marketing/category/sales or similar
• Have strong stakeholder management skills, enabling you to handle several tasks and stakeholder groups at the same time
• Have the ability to balance an operational and strategic focus, always with a high standard for the work you do
• Take lead and have the ability to move things forward through structure and strong problem solving skills
• Work independently but still ensure timely alignment and knowledge sharing across regional/ global peer group
• Have a can-do attitude and are able to cope well with changes
