Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment at Marco Industries. This position supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across the organization. The EHS Coordinator acts as a key point of contact for safety initiatives and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Support plant operations management in executing and maintaining company-wide EHS policies, programs, and procedures.

• Serve as the primary on-site EHS representative

• Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.

• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventative measures.

• Develop and deliver employee training on safety procedures, environmental compliance, and emergency response.

• Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, inspections, safety data sheets (SDS), and regulatory reports (e.g., stormwater permits, SPCC plans).

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards; represent the company during external inspections or audits.

• Facilitate employee involvement through safety committees, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.

• Oversee emergency preparedness efforts including drills and response planning.

• Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for supervising any employees assigned to the Safety Team.


Occupational Health and Safety

Employees are responsible and accountable for:

• Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.

• Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.

• Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.


Performance standards

• Semi-annual performance appraisal.

• Attainment of annual goals established between supervisor and employee.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred; Associate’s degree with relevant experience will be considered.

• 2–3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and workplace risk management.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with EHS software is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. This role is located at the Tulsa Distribution Center, a full time role Monday-Friday 8a-4pm.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching for the duration of the shift. May be exposed to weather temperature conditions prevalent at the time.
