The Chief Pilot is responsible for managing all activities pertaining to the company’s Pilots. This position reports to the Director of Operations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead pilot team and oversee operations of the flight department.
  • Provide leadership for training & development in support of company vision and business goals.
  • Ensure compliance data integrity and security of all systems (safety, quality, etc.), policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations, including federal/international aviation regulations.
  • Participate in pilot recruitment.
  • Manage pilot onboarding.
  • Complete initial and recurrent training, aircraft currency/proficiency and aircraft operating standards. 
  • Manage career path management for the Pilot workforce and training to ensure operating requirements are met.
  • Conduct IOE flights with new pilots.
  • Fill in on the flight schedule as needed.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and projects as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and conflict resolution within the pilot body.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and dispatch to maintain operational control
  • Ability to follow and adhere to the Federal Aviation Regulations and Part 135 Op Specs.

Requirements

  

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must meet 14 CFR Part 119.69 to serve as Chief Pilot 
  • 8000 hours total time
  • 3500 hours PIC
  • First class medical certificate
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certification
  • 5 years corporate aviation operations experience
  • 3 years supervisor or management experience in part 135
  • No accidents, incidents, violations, or DUI/DWI
  • Type rating HS-125 and CE-500 *Preferred
  • Ability to read, write and proficiently communicate in English language
  • Team player with a mission minded mentality
  • Abilities to work evening, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must live within an hour of Stuart, FL or willing to relocate
