About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking an Analyst Technology Operations Centre (TOC) to join them on a 8/6 Roster based at Perth for a 12 Month Opportunity. Reporting to the Supervisor Technology Operations Centre, you will be the key escalation point for IT/OT Incident Management, this role is dedicated to accelerating issue resolution, maximising production uptime, and reducing Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR).

 

The position maintains a strong emphasis on operational excellence and continuous service improvement across critical systems, including LTE, AHS, Auto Drills, and Rail Communications, through proactive maintenance, high system availability, and ongoing business improvement initiatives.

 

The role leverages IT/OT expertise to enhance monitoring, improve response times, and promote a culture of continuous service improvement. Responsibilities also include active involvement in major incident management, driving process enhancements, and participating in rostered on-call duties to ensure sustained operational performance.  This role also provides interim coverage for 24x7 Technology Operations Centre Analysts during planned and unplanned absences which may include working occasional night shifts to ensure seamless service delivery.

 

Duties:

  • Execute and perform processes that optimize the cost and quality of services by adhering fault response procedures and playbooks to triage, respond, and communicate about faults.
  • Coordinate fault response with multiple parties including business stakeholders, technical resources, vendors, and users. This includes contacting Major Incident Manager for high impact faults.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the capabilities of the Technology Operations Centre team and support operational excellence.
  • Act as the on-call major incident manager for critical IT/OT incidents whilst on your 8/6 roster
  • Collaborate with teams both within and outside of technology, in the operations centre and on-site, to support production-critical operational technology and resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Record fault details, timelines, investigation results, actions and effort taken to respond in ITSM Toolset.
  • Detect, monitor and respond to dashboards triggered alarms and maintaining operational health which is deemed critical for the successful execution of vital business function.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related domains and/or demonstrated, relevant industry experience which may include Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a range of users in mid-to large scale IT/OT operations, including hands on troubleshooting experience.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and major incident management.
  • ITIL knowledge (incident, problem and change)
  • Previous ITSM Tool Use (ServiceNow highly desirable)
  • Experience with network monitoring and security monitoring systems, log management and analytics/dashboarding systems.
