The Lead Software Engineer is the engine of the development team, responsible for translating architectural vision into tangible, high-quality software. This role is crucial for the day-to-day success of our sprints and projects. You will lead a team of engineers by example, ensuring that features are developed to the highest standards of quality and performance. By owning the technical execution of your team's backlog, you will be directly responsible for delivering the robust and reliable banking solutions our clients depend on.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

Hands-on Development & Delivery:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions using C# and the .NET Core framework.

Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code for complex features and services.

Own the end-to-end delivery of your team's commitments, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.

Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

Guide and mentor a small team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

Assist the Engineering Manager with task allocation, sprint planning, and tracking team progress.

Act as the first point of contact for technical challenges within the team, helping to unblock developers and solve problems.

Technical Design & Problem Solving:

Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Architects to break down large-scale designs into manageable tasks for the team.

Create detailed technical designs for features and components.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex bugs and production issues.

Agile & Process Adherence:

Actively participate in and lead agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Champion and enforce software development best practices, including unit testing, CI/CD, and SOLID principles.

Work closely with Quality Engineers and Business Analysts to ensure requirements are understood and met.

Skills and Qualification (Functional and Technical Skills)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

8-10 years of professional software development experience using the .NET technology stack.

Experience in the banking or financial services industry is a strong plus.

Functional Skills (Banking Domain):

Good understanding of financial services concepts and workflows.

Experience working on applications related to banking functions is preferred.

Technical Skills (.NET Focus):

Core .NET: Strong, hands-on proficiency in C# and .NET Core / .NET 5+.

Web & API Development: Solid experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core.

Database: Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools like Entity Framework Core.

Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) and their common services (e.g., App Services, Azure SQL).

Testing: Practical experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, NUnit) and the principles of Test-Driven Development (TDD).

DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Azure DevOps or Git.

Design Principles: Solid understanding of SOLID principles and common software design patterns.

Relationships & Collaboration

The person joining in this role would be working closely with team members spread across both US as well as India.
