Description

PURPOSEThe Middle East Consultant and Facilitator will advise on social-spiritual transformation through Business as Ministry. This role will provide resources to organizations and national churches in the Middle East, train others in similar roles, and advocate for CRCNA and Resonate’s donors, promoting mission sustainability as a viable option for the future. This role involves providing spiritual coaching, training, and networking to support sustainable ministry through business. The aim is to help develop innovative approaches to discipleship, evangelism, and community impact. Ultimately, this position is designed to resource local organizations and churches, train future leaders, and advocate for sustainable mission models within the region and beyond. 
The successful candidate must reside in one of the following U.S. states: California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, or Michigan. Or, in one of the following Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, or Ontario.

Status: Initially part-time, eventually full-time 
Location: Initially Canada or the U.S., then relocate to Cairo, Egypt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following
  1. Mentor emerging leaders and practitioners in the BAM space to ensure ongoing development and replication of this model.
  2. Provide ongoing spiritual coaching and business consulting to individuals and organizations engaged in Business as Ministry (BAM) initiatives.
  3. Develop and disseminate resources and tools for equipping local leaders and partners to integrate business and mission effectively.
  4. Actively build and maintain strategic relationships with local, regional, and global BAM stakeholders, including national churches, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and marketplace leaders.
  5. Facilitate collaboration and partnerships between BAM practitioners, ministries, and funding partners.
  6. Represent Resonate in regional BAM forums, conferences, and networks to promote shared learning and innovation.
  7. Initiate and support the development of new BAM projects that align with Resonate’s vision and regional priorities.
  8. Assess the needs, opportunities, and challenges faced by partners and offer practical, contextualized solutions.
  9. Support the development of sustainable ministry models through a blend of faith-driven entrepreneurship and community engagement.
  10. Design and deliver training workshops, courses, and seminars on Business as Ministry, discipleship in the workplace, and kingdom entrepreneurship.
  11. Help partner organizations integrate BAM principles into their ministry strategies, focusing on holistic transformation.
  12. Work with partners to create metrics for impact, integrity, sustainability, and spiritual outcomes.
  13. Advocate for the BAM model within the Christian Reformed Church (CRC), Resonate Global Mission, and among donor and supporting communities.
  14. Communicate stories of impact and transformation to donors and constituents to encourage greater understanding and support.
  15. Prepare reports, presentations, and communications that demonstrate the value and outcomes of BAM efforts in the region.
  16. Identify, train, and mentor future BAM facilitators or consultants both within and outside the Middle East.
  17. Develop a reproducible framework or model that can be adapted for use in other Resonate regions.
  18. Serve as a resource and coach to Resonate staff and partners globally who are exploring BAM strategies.
  19. Remain informed about the socio-economic, political, and spiritual dynamics in Egypt and the broader Middle East.
  20. Ensure that all BAM efforts are culturally sensitive, locally owned, and aligned with biblical principles.
  21. Promote contextual approaches to evangelism, discipleship, and community development through business.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

QUALIFICATIONS 
  1. Professing membership in a Christian Reformed congregation, or of a church in communion with the CRCNA, and agreement with the doctrine of the church signified by signing a covenant statement.
  2. Proven quality of administrative and organizational skills.
  3. A deserved reputation for integrity and spiritual maturity. 
  4. Significant understanding of Scripture, a love for the Gospel, and a heart for the unreached.
  5. Proven ability to collaborate with people from a variety of perspectives. 
  6. Intercultural experience and competence, preferably in Middle Eastern contexts.
  7. Fluency in English is required. 
  8. Knowledge of or willingness to learn Middle East languages is preferred. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  
  1. Basic experience as a business professional or volunteer ministry experience, demonstrating commitment to the vision of enabling ministries/missions to become financially self-sustainable.
  2. Postgraduate degree (completed or in progress) in a relevant field of study (Business/accounting, theology).
