Position Summary

At Metrea we’re on a mission to build a world-class Aviation hiring program. Not just to recruit pilots – but to recruit industry-best Aviators, Flight Operations leaders, MRO specialists, Engineering visionaries, and Tech, Safety and Training experts that enable our teams to deliver mission-critical effects around the world.

Our Air Domain delivers solutions across Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR), Aerial Firefighting, Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR), Advanced Training, Aircraft Engineering, and more.

We are now building an aviation specific recruitment team that spans the US, UK, EU and APAC. As the Aviation Recruiting Manager, you’ll be a true player-coach: leading searches for high-impact aviation talent while mentoring a small recruiting team and driving scalable hiring strategies. You’ll partner with leaders across the business to understand mission requirements, build pipelines for niche aviation roles globally, and strengthen our employer brand in the aviation community along with your team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership capacity—balancing strategy and execution, rolling up their sleeves to source and close talent while guiding a team toward recruiting excellence. If you’re entrepreneurial, mission-driven, and ready to help shape the future of aviation recruiting at Metrea, we want to hear from you.

Company Overview

Metrea is a defense company dedicated to translating commercial innovation into solutions for the hardest problems in national security. With deep mission expertise, Metrea focuses on delivering effects-as-a-service across Aerospace, Electromagnetic & Cyber, Digital & Synthetic domains via its capability groups. Metrea also consists of six support groups (Operations, People, Finance, Legal, Strategy and Solutions) that guide the development of specific capabilities that Metrea's files (product, projects, programs etc.) leverage to achieve their targets.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute a full-scale, global aviation recruiting program.
  • Be a player-coach. Lead directly and indirectly by example balancing ‘in’ the business recruiting and ‘on’ the business strategy.
  • Consult with hiring managers and business leaders while eagerly learning the business and educating on best practices of talent attraction.
  • Exemplify tenacious sourcing & pipelining practices. Build and maintain a pipeline of high-quality candidates, with a primary focus on Air domain roles and a demonstrated ability to anticipate hiring manager and business needs.
  • Deliver a world class candidate experience. Engage and nurture relationships with candidates and prospects using empathy and transparency, ensuring they’re aligned with Metrea’s mission and values.
  • Be a candidate and industry expert using thorough market research to identify key talent pools and stay updated on industry trends.

Skills and Experience

  • Rooted in Humility: You value the universal over the personal. Maximizing what you know, skeptically filtering what you believe you know, and further limiting what you project to know.
  • Previous experience as a Lead or Manager in aviation, aerospace, or defense recruitment or parallel military experience.
  • Ability to teach and leverage sourcing tools, techniques, and platforms to identify and attract top talent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, credibility, and influence stakeholders and candidates alike.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of domain-specific talent markets, including key talent pools and industry trends.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced complex environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders across different teams and time zones.

Additional Qualifications that are a Plus

Candidates with prior aviation recruiting experience – as well as former or transitioning military pilots, maintenance technicians or flight operations professionals with an interest in recruiting are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority consideration.

  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA or military aviation regulations, certifications and terminology
  • Experience in supporting ISR, Air to Air Refueling or Aerial Fire Fighting mission sets.
  • Working knowledge of multiple airframes such as King Air, KC-135, Challengers and Dash-8

Our Firmware

Metrea’s single core value, “rooted in humility,” is supported by four key attributes: entrepreneurial, systematic, discerning, and over-deliver. These attributes, combined, form our Teammate Firmware, our culture. We explore these attributes during the hiring process when we grow our teams and continually support the growth of our culture. We are a hyper-collaborative, dynamically hierarchical organization united by a passion for what we do, how we do it, who we do it with, and who we do it for.
