He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

We are looking for an Emergency Medical Technician to join us on a 6 month basis at Wairoa Station.

This follows a relief roster working DDNN or DDDD shift.

In this role you will: 

  • Work alongside an Emergency Medical Assistant
  • Drive the ambulance and assist with the delivery of patient care
  • Ensure operational readiness of vehicle and equipment
  • Complete other relevant administrative tasks. 

This station has been identified as a low Unit Hour Utilisation (UHU) station. To support organisational goals and funder expectations, non-registered EMT’s will engage in ePRF Peer Review duties.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current St John Authority to Practice (ATP) at EMT
  • Excellent operational and clinical performance to date
  • Excellent driving record
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
  • A genuine commitment to the wellbeing of others
  • The ability to work under pressure as part of a team
  • Evidence of CCE
  • New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or work visa
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with Hato Hone St John's core values - Do the right thing (Mahi Tika), Side by Side (Tū Tahi), Straight Up (Mahi Pono), Make it better (Whakapai Ake), Open Minds (Whakaaro Nui)
