The Senior Education Policy Officer will play a central role in supporting Jordan’s education system transformation. Based in Amman and reporting to the Senior Policy and Systems Manager, this position supports the implementation of policy and systems-level reforms under the Early Grade Education Activity (EGEA). The role focuses on improving early grade education delivery, teacher preparation, licensing, higher education reform, and system-level accountability across Jordan.
This position will provide technical and coordination support to engage government partners, including the Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), and the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC), among others.

Knowledge & Skills
- Strong technical understanding of education policy, governance, and reform strategies.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
- Experience working with Jordanian education institutions and government partners.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
- Policy research and writing, facilitation, and analytical skills.
- Capacity to coordinate multiple workstreams across government, academia, and civil society.
- Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, international development, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in education policy or systems reform.
- Strong familiarity with Jordan’s education landscape, particularly in teacher licensing, school leadership, and higher education governance.
- Experience with donor-funded education programming is preferred.
- Must have valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Jordan.
Your Daily Tasks
- Coordinate policy reform workstreams focused on teacher preparation, school leadership, and system accountability.
- Engage and consult with MoE, MoHESR, and AQAC to align and implement education policy reforms.
- Develop policy briefs, concept notes, implementation protocols, and strategic communications products.
- Support the rollout and documentation of pilot policy activities.
- Co-develop standards for teacher education and university accreditation with partner universities.
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder consultations, roundtables, and technical meetings.
- Help implement a national AI readiness assessment in collaboration with MoE.
- Contribute to monitoring, learning, and reporting of policy progress and lessons learned.

The salary for this role is USD 3,773.61 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
Please note: While we aim to offer competitive compensation, not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
