ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive revenue, increase brand awareness, and enhance the overall guest experience. This role requires a creative and analytical individual with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and a proven track record of successful marketing campaigns. The Director of Marketing is responsible for all marketing channels, including digital, traditional, public relations, and social media, to position the hotel as a premier destination. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer, capable of managing multiple projects and collaborating effectively with various departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Marketing & Planning:
- Develop and execute a robust annual marketing plan aligned with the hotel and restaurant's business goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Define target audiences and develop tailored marketing strategies to reach them effectively.
- Collaborate with the revenue management and sales teams to create integrated strategies for increasing bookings, group sales, and F&B revenue.
- Brand Management & Public Relations:
- Maintain and elevate the hotel and restaurant brand identity across all channels.
- Develop and manage the brand's voice, messaging, and visual standards.
- Oversee all public relations activities, including press releases, media relations, and crisis communication.
- Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and industry partners.
- Digital Marketing & E-commerce:
- Manage and optimize all digital marketing channels, including the hotel and restaurant websites, social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn), and email marketing campaigns.
- Develop and execute paid advertising campaigns (e.g., PPC, display ads, social media ads) to drive direct bookings and restaurant reservations.
- Analyze website traffic, campaign performance, and other digital metrics using tools like Google Analytics to measure ROI and inform future strategies.
- Manage online reputation and guest reviews on platforms like TripAdvisor, Google, and Yelp.
- Content Creation & Management:
- Create high-quality, engaging content, including photography, video, blog posts, and marketing collateral.
- Develop a content calendar and ensure consistent and timely content delivery across all platforms.
- Oversee the management of marketing assets and brand-approved materials.
- Promotions & Partnerships:
- Plan and execute promotions, packages, and special events to drive business during off-peak seasons and holidays.
- Identify and negotiate co-marketing and partnership opportunities with local businesses, tourism boards, and event organizers.
- Budgeting & Reporting:
- Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring all spending is tracked, allocated efficiently, and provides a strong return on investment.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, successes, and areas for improvement.
- Leadership:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the General Manager, F&B Director, Sales Director, and other department heads to ensure marketing efforts are integrated and effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a marketing role, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership position within the hospitality industry.
- Proven expertise in digital marketing, social media management, and public relations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A creative and innovative mindset with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with marketing software, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and social media management platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an agile environment.
