Job Description
This role will be responsible for leading the implementation and ongoing management of IATF 16949 certification for AD MGNA plants and headquarters. In addition, leading the Automotive PPAP / MAQMSR (Production Part Approval Process / Minimum Automotive Quality Management System Requirements compliance efforts and providing hands-on support to the sites manufacturing products for the automotive market. This role involves identifying gaps between current ISO 9001 QMS and IATF 16949/MAQMSR/PPAP requirements, updating documentation, integrating Automotive Core Tools, establishing customer-specific requirements processes, and developing and executing an internal audit program. This role will work closely with the Divisional Quality team and ensure compliance with automotive OEM expectations.
Role Expectations
Lead Management of Change to implement IATF standards across Avery Dennison production and Divisional processes to support OEM customer requirements
Revise and expand existing ISO 9001 QMS documentation to incorporate all additional requirements of IATF 16949, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and records.
Coordinate and execute statistical studies on PPAP specs including: process mapping, control charting, Gage R&R, FMEA, capability analysis, control plans, etc.
Develop processes to identify, understand, and comply with customer-specific requirements (CSRs).
Provide training and quality support to the production areas and cross-functional personnel.
Provide on site plant quality support and representation in new PPAP product development, spec reviews and approvals, scale up, design transfer, and facility validation activities.
Work with the Internal Audit Team to develop and implement an internal audit program covering all IATF 16949 requirements for applicable sites.
Undergo the official IATF 16949 certification audit for applicable sites ensuring all necessary actions are taken for certification to be awarded.
Manage IATF 16949 QMS after certification is awarded to be compliant with the external audit requirements.
Serve as a Lead Auditor for both internal and supplier audits. Host Customers who are auditing our AD sites.
Partner with cross functional teams such as operations, supply chain, operations, engineering and finance to gain buy in and drive adoption of the new processes
Be a subject matter expert for the organization as it pertains to IATF, MAQMSR, and PPAP requirements, updates/ changes by the governing body and auditing protocols
Act the as key point of contact with IATF and MAQMSR audits including support for external audits on completed PPAPs.
Provide assistance in the QA lab to perform PPAP product testing
Manage and complete the 17 PPAP required records for the spec(s) included as appropriate depending on the level of PPAP requested for all critical characteristics defined by the customer
Conduct quality audits for PPAP products, processes, and if required, suppliers (internal auditor)
Lead weekly and monthly meetings with the project team and stakeholders to assign key project tasks, establish timelines, report on milestones, progress, support needed, and what is in the pipeline for the next month
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field
6 years technical and/or manufacturing experience in automotive or similar industry
4 years working in an ISO Quality Management System Environment
Preferred:
2+ years working in an IATF Quality Management System
IATF 16949:2016 Lead Auditor Training for Automotive Quality Management Systems
IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Certification
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining an IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality management system. This includes writing procedures, creating work instructions, and managing documentation.
Proficiency in core automotive quality tools such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Experience leading a team or project, as this role requires overseeing the implementation process and potentially managing junior quality personnel.
Ability to conduct internal audits and participate in external audits with certification bodies.
Ability to conduct gap analyses and develop comprehensive implementation plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train personnel and collaborate with various teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Actively seeks knowledge, skills, and experience in order to grow and develop
Achieves goals with minimal direction
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $97k- $129k/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
