Job Summary
This dynamic role is critical to Nassau’s ability to maintain and enhance its IT production systems. This hands-on position requires a mix of technical acumen, infrastructure awareness, critical thinking, strong communication skills, business partner and vendor management, and ability to manage issues and work efforts from start to finish.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team of Nassau employees and third-party vendors, both onsite and offshore supporting multiple business lines.
- Manage end-to-end coordination, communications, and completion of production related issues
- Prioritize production issues and escalate as necessary
- Establish and manage priorities for business and technical enhancement requests
- Conduct effective demand management with business partners
- Identify cause of incidents and resolve
- Develop and manage contracts governing service provision
- Develop quantifiable KPIs for application platforms and support resources
- Manage, track and report service level performance
- Identify and deliver process changes that lead to better support or efficiency
- Interact with infrastructure, release management, change management quality assurance, application teams and others as required
- Understand and enforce Change Management process and IT General Controls
- Support and coordinate IT audit activities, including Control ownership responsibilities
- Automate current manual monitoring or other processes as needed
- Manage the transition of applications from development to production
- Ensure technical and user documentation is up to date
- Oversee and manage application upgrades, patches, defect fixes, etc.
- Continuously optimize and improve production performance
- Manage platform/application roadmaps
- Allocate resources to resolve problems and incidents
- Conduct root cause analysis of issues and report to affected stakeholders
- Conduct stand-ups with teams as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
- 5 + years’ experience managing production systems within a regulatory environment (Insurance, Investments, or Finance)
- Technical knowledge and experience with cloud (preferably AWS) and mainframe platforms
- Proven capability to resolve technical and production problems
- Expertise in managing third-party service providers, onsite and offshore
- Critical thinking, ability to “connect the dots”
- Ability to manage resources on a day-to-day basis
- Relentless pursuit of technical problem solving
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex solutions
- Must be available for on-call and off-hours support

The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band E: $65,000-$150,000 depending upon experience.
