Job Description

Position Summary:

Reviews analytical data, generated by laboratory's finished experiments, for quality, contract compliance, and complete, appropriate documentation. Serves as team resource to answer questions and offer guidance during data reduction. Responsible for identifying data issues and working with the department manager to implement solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews data as recorded/produced by instrumentation, looking for: 
    • Valid information 
    • Discrepancies/inconsistencies in other project-related results 
    • Contract compliance and compliance with client expectations 
    • Compliance with quality Assurance Program Plan (QAPP) 
    • Compliance with quality Control standards; log and determine validity. 
    • Appropriate qualifier and NCMs
  • Resolves inconsistencies by: 
    • Checking documentation 
    • Checking run-long 
    • Checking instrument calibration
    • Trouble-shooting problems and recommending appropriate solutions
    • Designing and developing procedures and programs to minimize deficiencies and ensures contract compliance 
    • Providing technical guidance and training employees on related topics
    • Assembling and reviewing data packages for validity and completeness

Secondary Duties

  • Aids in creating and reviewing MDL/DOC charts 
  • Contributes to implement best practices in data entry and review process
  • Performs related work as assigned 
  • Initiating rework if necessary
  • Complete SOP revisions to meet agreed upon deadlines.
  • Assists with tabulation of QA studies performed in the laboratory Evaluates stat windows and UFP tables annually or as requested.
  • Aids in ICAR investigation and corrective actions as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS/B in Chemistry or related field, OR more than 10 years of direct experience in the environmental chemistry space
  • Minimum 4 years bench level analytical experience plus formal QA training or 3 years QA Experience.
  • Knowledge of the EPA Methodology and basic QA principles and concepts.
  • Understanding of Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
