Job Description
Role Objective:Support the pricing and profitability of the Commercial Property portfolio by developing and maintaining actuarial pricing models. Collaborate with underwriting, claims, data, and portfolio teams to drive data-led pricing strategies and ensure sustainable business outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Pricing Model Development & MaintenanceBuild and maintain actuarial pricing models for Commercial Property products, including large accounts, mid-market, and SME segments.Develop technical pricing models using tools such as Excel, Emblem, R, Python, or Radar.Portfolio Analysis & MonitoringAnalyze portfolio performance, including trends in claims frequency, severity, exposure, and underwriting actions.Conduct regular rate monitoring, trend analysis, and support rate reviews.Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with underwriting to provide insights and support pricing decisions for new and renewal business.Work closely with data, claims, and reserving teams to ensure consistent assumptions and insights across functions.Innovation & EfficiencyIdentify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in pricing processes.Contribute to the design and testing of new pricing tools, including underwriter tools and APIs.Governance & ComplianceEnsure models and pricing recommendations comply with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and actuarial best practices.Document methodologies, assumptions, and processes clearly and robustly. Candidate Profile:Must-Have:5–6 years in actuarial pricing or analytics (preferably Commercial Property).Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, Emblem, Radar, Excel.Strong analytical and communication skills.Experience with underwriting or product teams.Preferred:Knowledge of rating methodologies: Exposure Rating, Experience Rating.Familiarity with LDF, ILF, loss curves.Cleared 3–4 actuarial exams; knowledge of ST-8: General Insurance Pricing is a plus.
