About us
2Excel Aviation Ltd, part of the 2Excel Group, is an innovative aerospace and aviation services company operating across defence, security, critical national infrastructure, charter, engineering and disaster response. We save lives, clean seas, save trees and support Nationally-important services. With specialist teams and unrivalled aerospace approvals, we design, build, test and operate aircraft to deliver mission-critical services and data-driven insights. Our success is built on the talent and experience of our exceptional people.
Why This Role Matters
At 2Excel, excellent compliance and safety are at the heart of everything we do. As our Compliance Monitoring Manager, you won’t just tick boxes, you’ll shape the integrity of our operations, influence Company culture and ensure we demonstrate the highest standards in aviation.
As a Nominated Person, reporting directly to the Accountable Manager and working as part of the wider Group Compliance Team, the 2Excel Aviation Compliance Monitoring Manager is responsible for continuously reviewing and ensuring compliance in line with regulatory requirements and Company procedures for 7 aircraft types across 2Excel’s Type A Operating Licence, its Air Operator’s Certificate, its Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation and its Airline Training Organisation.
This is your chance to lead a team of auditors from the front, drive continuous improvement, and make a real impact across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the Compliance Monitoring Department (CMD): Improving, maintaining and controlling a robust compliance monitoring framework that keeps our Approvals demonstrably aligned with regulatory and our own standards.
- Championing Quality: Identifying non-compliances and consequential risks, driving corrective and preventative actions and ensuring our teams are always audit-ready.
- Being the Voice of Integrity: Liaising directly with Regulators and Company senior leadership, providing clear insights and recommendations.
- Empowering Auditors: Selecting and guiding auditors, ensuring they’re equipped to monitor and uphold our standards.
- Shaping the Future: Ensuring our procedures and manuals evolve with best practices.
- Driving Feedback Culture: As the manager of our ISO 9001:2015 accredited quality management system, promoting open dialogue to continuously improve our services.
About you
You’re likely to have spent much of your career to date within the aviation sector and although you may not always have worked in compliance monitoring, you’ll have proven significant experience of it and be able to effectively develop, run and use a Compliance Management System. We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience of AOC and ATO Operators with Part CAMO and a deep understanding of ICAO Annex 19 and the CAA’s governing regulatory frameworks. You’ll have practical experience of human factors, aviation safety and compliance management systems, standards and practices. You’ll be familiar with audit planning and conducting root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. You’ll also have a proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
This operationally independent role is a CAA Nominated Postholder position. Therefore, you’ll probably already have experience of working at that level, or you’ve been deputising and you’re ready to take the next step. In order to fulfil this requirement, you’ll have at least 5 years’ relevant work experience with a minimum of 2 years in aeronautical industry roles and/or a relevant engineering degree or maintenance technician qualification acceptable to the CAA. You’ll swiftly be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of our exposition and operational manuals and understanding of maintenance methods and operational procedures.
You will be a strong communicator, with the confidence to engage, persuade and influence at all levels of our aviation organisation. You will have excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload, working under your own initiative and with little guidance.
Ideally you will have previous people management experience and bring a leadership style that creates a high performing team.
In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK, hold a valid UK Driving Licence due to the travel requirements and obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC).
What You’ll Get
- Direct access to the Accountable Manager and senior leadership.
- Influence across all departments and contractors.
- Opportunities to shape policy and drive innovation.
- A supportive team environment that values your expertise.
- Competitive salary and benefits package which includes but not limited to 25 days of annual leave from day one which increases with length of service, flexible working arrangements, company pension, Group Life Insurance and private medical cover.
