Instrumentation & Controls QA/QC (LSS & Telecom)

We are currently seeking a Instrumentation & Controls QA/QC professional to join our project team in Texas, supporting a high-tech facility’s instrumentation, telecom, and life safety systems commissioning and construction activities.

Responsibilities:

• Implement QA/QC procedures and inspection plans for all I&C (Instrumentation & Controls), Security, and Life Safety Systems (LSS).
• Review and ensure all installations comply with NFPA, NEC, ISO, and TIA standards and client specifications.
• Conduct inspections and quality audits of field installations: fire alarms, access control, CCTV, BMS, structured cabling, and emergency systems.
• Coordinate quality efforts with project construction, commissioning, and client teams across all phases.
• Review method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and material submittals for system compliance.
• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), including documentation and reporting.
• Track and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and punch list closure.
• Maintain QA documentation including test records, inspection logs, and calibration certificates.
• Actively participate in QA-related meetings, system walkdowns, readiness reviews, and final handovers.
• Ensure quality standards and safety procedures are enforced across all subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

• Equivalent hands-on field experience in low voltage QA/QC or commissioning may be considered in lieu of formal education/licensure.
• Minimum 5+ years of QA/QC experience in low voltage electrical systems, particularly in mission-critical environments (e.g., semiconductor, data centers, or pharmaceutical facilities).
• Strong working knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems, including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, and SCADA/BMS interfaces.
• Proficiency in Life Safety Systems (LSS): fire alarm systems (e.g., VESDA, smoke/heat detectors), emergency shutoffs, access control, CCTV, PA/GA systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in telecom systems QA, including structured cabling (fiber and copper), patch panels, server racks, OTDR testing, and link loss verification.
• Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
• Effective at managing non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action plans, and closure tracking.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills – able to manage large volumes of QA records, punch lists, and checklists under tight deadlines.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
• Journeyman Electrician’s License is strongly preferred but not required.
• Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
