Job Description
The Media Group at NBCU supports a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands including Peacock, NBC, Bravo, NBC Sports, and NBCU International. With unequalled scale, our teams make the most out of every opportunity to collaborate and learn from one another. We’re always looking for ways to innovate faster, accelerate our growth and consistently offer the very best in consumer experience. But most of all, we’re backed by a culture of respect. We embrace authenticity and inspire people to thrive.
NBCUniversal’s Media Group is looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst, Distribution Measurement & Data Products to join the Decision Sciences team. This role supports performance measurement across NBCU’s portfolio of distribution partnerships—including across digital platforms, MVPDs, and enterprise/marketing partnerships—by ensuring data and reporting solutions are accurate, reliable and launch-ready.
The Senior Analyst will support day-to-day execution across several key areas: defining and QAing performance metrics, building and maintaining dashboards, investigating data and reporting issues, and supporting new partner integrations from a reporting and measurement perspective. Success in this role requires strong technical acumen—particularly in working with large datasets and reporting tools—along with the ability to distill complex technical details into clear, actionable takeaways for business stakeholders and leadership.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires close collaboration with engineering, data, product, technology and business teams. Given the pace and complexity of ongoing partner integrations, the work is dynamic and fast-moving—ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, adapting quickly, and making an immediate impact.
Your work will play a critical role in ensuring NBCUniversal can accurately measure the performance of its distribution partnerships, enabling smarter decisions, stronger launches, and more effective deal outcomes.
Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a skills assessment.
Day-to-day:
- Develop a deep understanding of NBCU distribution deal constructs to inform performance measurement and guide reporting needs
- Support the development and maintenance of recurring dashboards and performance reporting for distribution partner integrations
- Perform detailed data validation and QA to ensure reporting outputs are accurate, complete, and aligned with defined measurement requirements
- Investigate data anomalies, reporting gaps, or inconsistencies, and partner with cross-functional teams to help identify root causes and implement fixes
- Build SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data from large-scale data sources
- Support reporting requirement gathering for new distribution launches
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics partners to ensure reporting reflects current data availability and business analytic needs
- Document data logic, metric definitions, and reporting workflows to ensure continuity and transparency
- Write and manage engineering tickets as needed, clearly articulating business and technical requirements
- Track and summarize ongoing data defects, enhancements, and new features for management, ensuring appropriate prioritization and escalation when appropriate
- Manage multiple reporting requests and deadlines while prioritizing based on business needs
- Execute ad hoc analyses that surface key performance trends as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data products, business intelligence, or performance reporting, ideally within media, streaming, or a consumer tech company
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets; experience with Databricks (or similar platforms) strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with BI tools—ideally Tableau—to build, maintain, and troubleshoot dashboards and visualizations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering clean, accurate, and timely work
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data issues and follow through with thoughtful problem-solving
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with multiple workstreams while maintaining a highly organized work slate
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science)
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the streaming media ecosystem and distribution business models
- Experience working with data product or data engineering teams
- Experience with project management, issue tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
