The Opportunity:
The Finance Director serves as a strategic liaison between the Commercial Finance, the Group Finance function and the local market team. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance, supporting decision-making, and enhancing operational efficiency. The Finance Director plays a critical role in driving growth and profitability, taking a lead role in evaluating the financial performance of the Group against strategic objectives, through the use of models, accounting software and MI analysis tools. In this role you will become a trusted advisor to the regional leadership team, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing robust financial evaluation to inform and influence decision making.
Job Responsibilities:
Partnering Country Head:
Provide strategic financial insight and guidance to the country director to inform key decisions related to growth, profitability, and business performance.
Supporting external sales and managing appropriate external local relationships.
Commercial Finance:
Budgeting and forecasting for the APAC market and hand off with capability FBP’s.
Engagement with delivery heads, market leads and FBP’s on forecasting and planning for optimisation.
Embedding engagement and delivering commercial insight to the local team.
Provide accurate weekly R&O updates.
Appraise investment opportunities and work with the leadership team to optimise and provide post investment appraisal.
Support the wider GCF team with ad-hoc special projects and the development of planning models to evaluate future performance, as required.
Ability to articulate to GCF Director what is “good, bad, getting better, getting worse” and make recommendations.
Local Financial Operations and Control:
Lead a team of 3 to deliver the local finance operations across the APAC region in all aspects of financial control.
Oversees P&L ownership, balance sheet management, and cash flow for the division.
Deliver monthly management accounts and associated insight.
Optimise financial systems and processes that support effective decision-making, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Ensure that all data and reporting on the region is robust and accurate, highlighting inaccuracies and driving continuous improvement, cross functionally.
Work closely with internal and external auditors to maintain a robust internal control and compliance environment.
Requirements:
Professional accounting qualification (e.g CPA, CA).
Financial leadership experience.
Proven experience in financial control, financial modelling, business partnering, and strategic decision support.
Strong financial acumen, with expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate at various levels in the organisation.
Advanced proficiency in financial software. It is desirable to have experience of Workday and Salesforce alongside other financial modelling tools and Excel.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
