On-site This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Flint Assembly in Flint, Michigan on a full-time basis.
The Role
As a Business Planner in Production, you will be responsible for implementing and executing the established business process for the Chassis Final Department. Supporting Shift Leaders in managing the complexity in the production operations while fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Must possess the ability to deal with complex problems and strong team work.
In this position, you will support the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment and participate in training and developing of salaried and hourly employees, and in the development of highly effective teams.
You will support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes, be a leader in developing and executing the level 2 business plan, leading process changes, and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities. You will be proficient in cost objectives, problem solving, and supporting the production team with data analysis.
What You'll Do
Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and utilizes resources to solve quality issues.
Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management
Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union
Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping. Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
Lead Injury Reduction Committee and Initiatives
Review and report cost data and update Level 2 board
Track RTR and report NSOT, HPU costs
Support TIP reviews and initiatives
Lead Scrap analysis and problem solving for department
Place SAP orders
Manage UAW Core Team Members and Mutilation Coordinator
Manage the 2000 account supply strategy
Lead OpEx projects to reduce costs and improve quality
Lead tours, support plant and department events
Support the production BM and SLs in their day-to-day operations
Support BM and SL absenteeism by backfilling that position when open
Your Skills & Abilities
Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
3 years of Production experience. General Assembly experience preferred
