The Opportunity
The Future Fund is seeking a Senior Analyst to join it’s the Core Operations function of the Portfolio Operations team for a 12-month fixed term contract. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-performing investment organisation that is committed to delivering long-term value for future generations of Australians. The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic environment that spans a diverse range of asset classes and investment products. The position is integral to the execution of business-as-usual activities that support the Agency’s investment strategy, with a strong emphasis on compliance, governance, and operational excellence. The role demands a disciplined approach to risk management and process integrity, while also providing scope for meaningful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. It is ideally suited to a professional who is proactive, solutions-oriented and passionate about continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing liquidity across multiple funds and asset types, ensuring the efficient implementation of cash management strategies. The role includes preparing and executing instructions for portfolio investment activities, overseeing proxy voting in accordance with governance policies and managing complex private market transactions. They will also be tasked with establishing and maintaining investment accounts and referential datasets at the Custodian, resolving non-standard operational queries and contributing to the development of process documentation and reporting dashboards. A key aspect of the role is to ensure that all activities are executed in compliance with internal procedures and control protocols, while maintaining high standards of process efficiency and accuracy. The Senior Analyst will also play a pivotal role in enhancing the Portfolio Operations operating model through participation in strategic initiatives and projects.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the role requires strong stakeholder engagement. The Senior Analyst will be an active participant within the Portfolio Operations team and the broader Operations group, fostering strong relationships with the Investment Management Team and internal support functions. The role also involves proactive engagement with key external stakeholders, including custodians, investment managers, and proxy service providers.
About You
You hold a tertiary qualification in finance, economics, or business, with postgraduate or professional credentials viewed favourably. You bring over seven years of experience in investment operations, ideally within institutional funds management, custody services, or superannuation. A deep understanding of transaction implementation across asset classes, including private equity and alternatives, is essential, as well as strong capabilities in cash, liquidity, and treasury management. Proficiency in platforms such as Aladdin, Power Platform, Sequel, and Python is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate credibility, personal accountability, and a risk-conscious approach to problem solving. Strong decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are critical to thriving in this role and contributing to the Future Fund’s purpose-driven mission.
