APPLICATIONS ANALYST - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - FT DAYS (56640)

JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates and maintains various applications, databases and dictionaries in the Electronic Health Record. Responsible for building, managing and testing to ensure the Electronic Health Record meets the needs for the end user. Develop or modify basic system request. Provide support to new Ambulatory practices, train Ambulatory providers and new users.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works well under stress or tight deadlines and remains flexible to changing systems and processes.
2. Approaches problems analytically, using good judgment, common sense, and technical knowledge when problem solving.
3. Updates application databases and dictionaries as needed or as directed by the Applications Manager
4. Ensures testing of all updates/new releases for the applications for which they have responsibility is completed
5. Documents, communicates and follows-up on all reported problems, enhancement requests, and system change requests.
6. Conducts weekly rounds, communicates issues, and provides write-up to Manager and IT Director.
7. Keeps Applications Manager informed of all events affecting the operations of assigned applications.
8. Develops training materials for assigned applications and provides leader lead training as needed.
9. Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department through skills transfer, continued professional growth and self-education of new technologies.
10. Attend meetings as needed to provide assistance to hospital leaders on the use and/or development of assigned applications.
11. Works with other analysts to assure that a consistent approach is followed throughout all clinical and financial applications.
12. Works with technical staff to help resolve hardware and network problems impacting assigned applications. Presents unresolved hardware/software problems to Technology Manager for resolution.
13. Takes equal amounts of after-hours and weekend “call” with other “front call” staff.
14. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level:

Graduate of a medical assistant program and certified or

Bachelors of Science with 3 years of hospital IT experience or

Associates degree with 8 years of hospital IT experience or

Experience Requirement:

Experience in a clinical, healthcare environment or other related information technology field
