A Day in the Life

The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of remote sales representatives to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, coaching team members, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The Inside Sales Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.

MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (may include the following and other duties may be assigned):
• Remotely sells Medtronic's products and retains end-user patients within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts for pre-defined territory locations to achieve or exceed assigned sales goals.
• Identify, develop and close leads for the business and refer on internal leads when appropriate.
• Provides input on new markets, new product introductions, and existing products or supplies.
• Promotes and establishes education of the company's products and/or services.
• Manages and responds to customer concerns and problems.
• Arranges demonstration of products by field sales representatives.
• Assists the field sales representatives in the planning and execution of sales activities as well as providing on-going sales support including sales calls, data analysis, customer opportunities, and sales rep follow-up.
•Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)

•Plans, directs, and monitors the activities of the inside sales team to achieve established sales targets.
•Develops and implements sales strategies for existing and potential accounts to maximize revenue opportunities.
•Manages the day-to-day activities of the inside sales team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall sales strategy.
•Coaches and develops inside sales representatives on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement strategies.
•Builds and maintains strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders to support sales efforts and enhance customer experience.
•Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements new selling programs to increase market share.
•Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides ongoing feedback to team members to foster professional growth.
•Collaborates with marketing, service, and other departments to develop and execute sales and marketing plans.
•Analyzes sales data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and adjust sales tactics as necessary.
•Ensures compliance with company policies and ethical standards in all sales activities.
•Monitors and controls expenses to ensure the organization meets financial goals.

CAREER STREAM:
Management and supervisory sales professionals focus on direct sales and operational activities for one or more specified business units. Levels within the sales management career stream typically have multiple direct reports. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing performance, talent development, diversity and inclusion, communication business and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and / or indirect reports, but may involve direct sales participation as appropriate.

Leverages internal processes in support of sales representatives and selling activities.

Organizational Impact: Establishes direct sales and operational plans with direct impact on function results, including target revenue, resource allocation, expenditures and future business opportunities.
Is accountable for execution and implementation of a number of significant business transactions or projects.
Ensures individual and team progress are monitored and reviewed .

Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem .
Makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, policies and / or products to enhance performance of entire sales team.

Communication and Influence: Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors regarding ongoing operations.
Uses information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties .
May interact on issues that have externally shared objectives.

Leadership and Talent Management: Manages at least one small to mid-sized team consisting of supervisors and / or experienced sales professionals.
Leads, directs and reviews the work of a sales team who exercise latitude and independence in handling accounts .
Authorizes hiring, firing, promotion and reward within own area.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical sales, business development and management knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics for one or more products.
Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within the sales discipline, with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree, or
• Advanced degree

JOB EXPERIENCE
•5 years of relevant sales experience with a Bachelor's degree, or
•3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience with an advanced degree

•Strong understanding of sales principles, market dynamics, and business strategies.
•Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales plans and strategies.
•Excellent coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
•Proficient in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

DESIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
•Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
•Bilingual, oral/written (English/French) is a plus.
•Change Management training and experience.
