As Health and  Safety (H&S) Cluster Manager for the cluster Dessel consisting of 5 sites, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and managing activities within the global H&S program for your assigned cluster. You will be support Sibelco in complying with the local regulation and Sibelco H&S Standards to ensure every employee, contractor, and visitor can work in a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Conduct site visits, field observations, and process confirmations to verify safety compliance.

·       Follow up safety practices, attend shift/handover/daily operations meetings, and provide ongoing safety support.

·       Collaborate with the Central Europe Regional HS manager and HS Global Competence Center to align local programs with the global Sibelco H&S strategy, program, standards, and tools.

·       Develop and implement site-specific emergency response plans for your cluster’s sites.

·       Advise and perform risk assessments on local projects with potential impacts on H&S, working closely with operators, supervisors, and local operational leadership.

·       Monitor and ensure compliance with local legal requirements, report gaps, and assist in the development and execution of action plans in collaboration with local stakeholders.

·       Oversee the successful rollout of H&S training programs in your area of responsibility.

·       Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting of H&S performance metrics (KPIs) for your assigned area.

·       Stakeholder management including coaching and influencing of leadership positions in Operations

·       Change Management : able to navigate in a work environment where change is a constant.

 

 

What Do You Need to Succeed?

·       Minimum a certificate as “Preventie-Adviseur niveau II” 

·       Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and the Machine Directive

·       Prior relevant experience in Health & Safety management, preferably in an industrial or operational setting.

·       strong character with a hands-on approach and a driving force

·       winner’s mentality – strong resolve combined with a strong sense of team spirit 

·       good communication skills, be able to communicate with all levels within the company

·       ability to empower people

·       implement & guide change/projects

·       create buy-in from all levels within the company

·       Proficiency in English and Dutch, both verbal and written.

·       Travel regularly to ensure presence in each of the 5 sites (Dessel, Lommel, Maasmechelen, Quai 287 in Antwerp harbour and Antwerp HQ ) at least 1 every 2 weeks.  Your office location will be in Dessel in the Technical building on site next to the Operational leaders.
