Sr. Director Operational Excellence

Daikin Applied is seeking a fulltime Senior Director of Operational Excellence.  This role leads the design and execution of continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, PDS (DIL’s Production System), and enterprise-wide process improvement programs. This role leads the central Operational Excellence team, directing team  resources to drive performance across the organization. Key responsibilities include managing the DAA Enterprise Performance Management process, facilitating the annual planning cycle, leading the monthly ELT performance review (Compass), and ensuring the success of DAA’s most critical initiatives. The role also champions process maturity improvements across the value stream to consistently deliver an unrivaled customer experience, both internally and externally. Success in this position requires strong analytical capabilities, project management expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Location: Plymouth, MN onsite 

 

What you will do:

• Lead the continuous improvement efforts across Daikin Applied Americas by working with OpEx leaders within the business units and functional groups to develop CI plans to be executed to improve function or Business Unit KPIs
• Lead DAA way annual planning cycle, act as lead facilitator from ELT annual priority setting through Business Unit Catch Ball session.
• Facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and Kaizen events to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
• Create an organizational training strategy that supports the continuous improvement culture including basic knowledge, process improvement, root cause analysis, maintenance, etc.
• Provide executive oversight for all Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, and CIP projects.
• Establish and implement a process for standard communication of continuous improvement initiatives across the organization and perform periodic audits to ensure the process is consistent.
• Develop and implement opportunity assessment and realization scorecards for improvement in business performance across all areas of the business.
• Utilizing Lean methods, Value Stream Maps, SIPOC, RACI, and other as needed tools to improve the process and lead times for all segments of the Sales to Order and Order to Delivery processes and determine predictable lead times in order to increase customer satisfaction.
• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to drive improvements across major programs such as Program Management, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management in order to have clear timelines, metrics, deliverables, and measurable benefits.
• Lead the core team to develop and lead the implementation of Policy Deployment for DAA.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from a four-year college or university is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Commercial Operations & Quality leadership. 
• Experience with Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean, and SPC techniques.
• Track record of successful project management and team leadership experience.

Preffered Qualifications:

• Expereince developing operational excellence programs at an enterprise level
• Experience in a custom engineering environment

The typical salary for this position ranges from $142,600.00 - $243,600.00 plus bopnus eligibaility (20-25%) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
