Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care
Location: Central Indiana

About the Role
As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
- Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
- Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
- Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
- Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
- Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
- Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
Physician Assistants:
- Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
- NCCPA Certification (required)
Nurse Practitioners:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attentive listening and patient engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Multilingual communication skills
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
- Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
