GL Accountant

We are looking for skilled GL Accountant to join our amazing team located in Gdansk, Poland.

Key responsibilities: 

• Ensuring overall quality and timely accounts for selected countries

• General ledger accounting according to Hempel rules, including identification, calculation and posting of: fixed assets and depreciation, assets under construction, payroll (based on payroll summary from HR), prepaid costs register, accruals register, provisions, revaluations

• Maintaining proper documentation for the above

• Coordinating timely month close for the selected accounts, in cooperation with the Finance Controller

• Detailed review of correctness of accounts and initiating corrective and preventive actions

• Trial balance reviews and reconciliations prior to month close

• Tax, statistical, bank and employment reporting, if required, or support to external service provider

• Correctness of keeping the accounts

• Cooperation and coordination to collect all necessary accounting documents, their approvals and reconcile balances with other related departments.

​Qualifications and competencies:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or related area

• Minimum 2 year professional experience on similar position

• Good command of the English language (min. B2)

• Second European language is seen as an asset

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)  

• Attention to details and problem analysis

• Team work

• Results and quality orientation

• High organization and communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines
